The Atomos Ninja TX combines professional monitoring and recording in a compact 5-inch form factor. It accepts both SDI and HDMI signals, records to ultra-fast CFexpress or external USB-C storage, and includes built-in Wi‑Fi for camera-to-cloud workflows. In addition, the unit runs the AtomOS Linux platform and supports modern streaming protocols and timecode options for multicam projects.
The Ninja TX features a super-bright 1500 nit 5-inch touchscreen. As a result, you get clearer visibility in bright conditions and a responsive touchscreen interface for quick adjustments on set.
Furthermore, the unit includes a full suite of professional monitoring tools. For example, you can use EL Zone™ false color, focus peaking, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope and more. Also, Ninja offers zoom options (2:1, 1:1), zebras, frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with .cube file uploads. In addition, Ninja provides anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring for anamorphic lens setups and supports real-time LUT loading from external media.
Ninja TX records in popular codecs such as Apple ProRes and Avid DNx, and it also supports H.265/H.264. It handles ProRes RAW workflows where supported by the connected camera and media choice. Depending on your camera output, the Ninja series supports a wide range of resolutions and frame rates: up to 120fps at HD, up to 60fps at 4K UHD/DCI, and up to 30fps at 8K UHD/DCI. These higher frame rates are typically used for slow motion or fast action scenes.
Atomos designed the Ninja family to record to removable, high-performance media. With Ninja TX you can choose CFexpress Type B cards or attach external high-speed USB-C storage. This flexibility allows you to use the media that best fits your workflow. Note that storage media is purchased separately and minimum performance/certification requirements apply.
Integrated cloud connectivity lets you upload footage directly to ATOMOSphere, Frame.io or Dropbox. Ninja TX also includes 20GB of free ATOMOSphere storage with membership, enabling camera-to-cloud workflows out of the box.
Ninja TX includes HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI input and output, giving you compatibility with a wide range of cameras and production setups. SDI enables longer cable runs and reliable connections on multicam or studio shoots.
The unit has built-in Wi‑Fi, and it supports modern streaming with NDI 6 / HX3. In addition, Ninja TX provides camera-to-cloud features and direct upload to supported cloud services. For multicam timecode needs, it offers AirGlu timecode and timecode sync over RF or Bluetooth.
Physically, Ninja TX includes three USB-C ports. One USB-C port is used for powering the device, while the other two allow direct attachment of external storage or monitor calibration tools.
Atomos provides multiple power options. Ninja TX supports USB-C power delivery, NP-F batteries, or an optional battery eliminator. Also, the Atomos Locking AC Power Adapter is required to provide AC power and is sold separately.
To maintain strong cable connections on set, Atomos developed a unique cable locking ecosystem for HDMI and USB-C cables. Ninja TX ships with special brackets and a USB-C locking cable to secure connections during demanding shoots.
