The Atomos Shinobi 7 RX combines a bright, full-featured 7-inch HDR monitor with integrated wireless video receiving. It delivers accurate, real-time monitoring without cables, making it suitable for directors, ACs, clients, and camera operators on large sets or run-and-gun shoots.
You can control Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras via USB-C. In addition, Z CAM cameras are supported using an optional USB-C to serial cable. The Shinobi 7 RX includes touch-to-focus functionality similar to the Shinobi II, which helps speed up focus confirmation on set.
The Shinobi 7 RX runs AtomOS 11 and provides professional monitoring tools for exposure, focus, and framing. Use waveform, histogram, vectorscope, EL Zone, ARRI false color, frame guides, anamorphic de-squeeze, and custom LUTs. The unique Analysis mode displays multiple scopes on a single page so you can compare signals at a glance. The user interface remains intuitive, responsive, and fast to navigate.
The built-in Wi‑Fi creates a stable link to the TX component of Atomos’ TX-RX wireless system or to an RTSP H.264 stream. Paired with the Atomos TX wireless transmitter, the Shinobi 7 RX receives up to 4Kp30 or 1080p60 HDMI signals with low latency over 5GHz Wi‑Fi. This wireless option makes the unit ideal as a director’s monitor, focus puller’s monitor, or program/preview display for switchers, freeing the camera area from cables.
The display has a 1920 x 1200 resolution and 2200 nits peak brightness, suitable for both indoor and outdoor viewing. Consequently, you can rely on the screen for HDR and Log workflows with support for Rec.709, PQ, and HLG monitoring. The ultra-bright panel ensures visibility even in bright ambient conditions.
The Shinobi 7 RX is lightweight yet rugged. It includes dual Sony L-series battery slots for hot-swappable power and long-lasting on-set performance. You can also use HDMI input and output to operate the unit as a conventional wired monitor. Mount it on a rig, stand, or use it handheld to serve multiple departments on set—from camera to directing.
