Panasonic AW-UE20KE 4K PTZ Camera – 12x optical zoom and 4K IP/USB streaming

The Panasonic AW-UE20KE is a compact PTZ camera designed for rooms and venues that require 4K capture, straightforward connectivity, and dependable remote operation. It uses a 1/2.8-type 4K MOS sensor and a 12x optical zoom to cover wide tables, classrooms, and stages while maintaining consistent image quality.

High-quality imaging and lens coverage

The camera’s 1/2.8-type 4K MOS sensor delivers approximately 8.46 MP effective resolution for clear 4K images. The integrated lens offers a 35 mm–equivalent focal range of approximately 26.4–316.4 mm. This range provides a horizontal angle of view of about 71° at the wide end and around 6° at the tele end, letting you capture wide scenes or tight close-ups without changing lenses.

Video outputs and formats

The AW-UE20KE supports multiple output paths to fit different workflows. Via HDMI you can get UHD up to 2160/29.97p or 25p, and a variety of HD formats including 1080/59.94p, 50p, 59.94i, 50i, and 29.97p/25p, plus 720p support. For broadcast or routing systems, 3G-SDI provides HD up to 1080/59.94p or 50p (Level-A).

For direct computer connection and UVC workflows, the USB-C device port operates in UVC/UAC mode and outputs video as YUV (uncompressed), MJPEG, or H.264 depending on the selected USB mode. This makes the camera compatible with common conferencing and capture software.

Network streaming, protocols, and audio

The camera streams over IP using MJPEG, H.264, and H.265 codecs at resolutions up to 3840×2160. It supports frame-rate options for both 50 Hz and 59.94/60 Hz regions. Streaming and control protocols include RTSP/RTP and RTMP/RTMPS. The unit supports IPv4 and IPv6 control services and includes NTP for time synchronization.

Audio can be connected via the 3.5 mm stereo mic/line input, which provides selectable plug-in power. You can embed this audio into HDMI, IP, and USB outputs for integrated audio/video delivery.

Control, pan/tilt performance, and power

  • The pan/tilt head covers pan ±170° and tilt −30° to +90° to give flexible framing in most installations.
  • Manual pan/tilt speeds range from 0.1°/s up to 100°/s, while preset moves can reach up to 200°/s for fast repositioning between presets.
  • Control options include IP control, RS-422, and RS-232C to integrate with a wide range of control systems.
  • The camera supports PoE+ for single-cable power and data delivery, and it can also be powered via 12 V DC.
