4K sensor and versatile zoom

The AW-UE40KEJ uses a 1/2.5-type 4K MOS sensor with approximately 8.49 MP effective. Its integrated lens provides a 35 mm–equivalent focal range of approximately 25–600 mm. That range covers wide scenes and distant subjects without changing lenses.

In addition, the camera supports i.Zoom up to 28x in UHD and 36x in FHD, plus digital extender options (1.4x/2x), which extend reach while keeping a consistent image quality suitable for live production.

Outputs, formats and simple USB connectivity

The camera outputs UHD up to 2160/29.97p or 25p via HDMI, and it supports a full range of HD formats up to 1080/59.94p or 50p. HDMI output supports 4:2:2 10-bit output for higher color fidelity.

For plug-and-play use, the AW-UE40KEJ provides a USB-C device port that supports UVC/UAC. This lets you connect directly to a computer as a standard USB video/audio device without additional capture hardware. You can also embed audio from the 3.5 mm mic/line input onto the video outputs for simpler signal routing.

Network streaming and protocol support

The camera streams over IP using JPEG (MJPEG), H.264, or H.265. It supports common streaming protocols including RTSP/RTP and RTMP/RTMPS for delivery to servers and platforms. For contribution over unmanaged networks it also supports SRT.

NDI HX2 is available as an optional activation for NDI-based workflows, allowing tighter integration in NDI environments when purchased and enabled separately.
