PolarPro Arctic CP Benjamin Hardman 49mm – 45% Light Transmission for Low-Light Conditions

The PolarPro Arctic CP 49mm is a circular polarizer co-designed with Benjamin Hardman and tested in Greenland. It targets photographers who need clearer images in cold, challenging environments. The filter delivers increased light transmission, true-to-life color, and handling features tailored for freezing conditions.

Key Uses

  • Use it in low-light and overcast conditions where extra brightness helps exposure.
  • Deploy it for landscape work in cold climates, including snowy or icy environments where color accuracy matters.
  • Rely on its glove-friendly controls when operating with thick gloves or in windy conditions.

Features & Benefits

  • 45% Light Transmission – Provides roughly half a stop more light than standard polarizers, which helps in low-light and overcast shooting scenarios.
  • Chroma Polarization Technology – Preserves true-to-life color rendition with zero color shift, keeping hues accurate in your final images.
  • 110° Short-Throw Rotation – Enables faster, more precise adjustments so you can reach the polarization sweet spot up to 5x quicker than with longer-throw rings.
  • Glove-Friendly Grip – An oversized, textured ring improves handling and control when your hands are cold or gloved.
  • Slim Hood-Compatible Frame – The low-profile design maintains compatibility with most lens hoods to avoid vignetting with wider lenses.
  • Available Sizes – Offered in multiple mounts, including 49mm, 67mm, 77mm, 82mm, 86Cmm, 95Cmm, and a Helix MagLock mount.

Design & Field Testing

PolarPro co-designed this Arctic CP with photographer Benjamin Hardman and validated its performance through tests in Greenland. As a result, the filter combines practical handling features with optical choices intended for cold-weather shooting.

Compatibility and Handling

The slim frame helps maintain hood compatibility on most lenses, while the oversized, textured grip focuses on secure adjustments in freezing temperatures. Combined with the short-throw rotation, these elements speed up setup and in-field adjustments.
