This Samyang AF 24–60mm F2.8 FE is a compact, everyday zoom designed for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. It keeps a constant F2.8 aperture across the zoom range, which helps you control depth of field and work in lower light without changing lenses. At the same time, the lens remains easy to carry thanks to its lightweight design.
The zoom range covers common needs: landscapes, lifestyle and portraits. Because the aperture stays at F2.8 throughout the range, you get consistent exposure and depth-of-field control when you zoom. The lens is small and light enough to include as part of a minimal kit and still deliver solid image quality.
Samyang co-developed the optical design with Schneider-Kreuznach. The construction combines high-refractive (HR), extra-low dispersion (ED) and aspherical elements with Samyang’s UMC coating. As a result, the lens controls aberrations and preserves contrast and color across the frame. Additionally, a 9-blade diaphragm produces rounded bokeh for smoother out-of-focus areas.
The lens uses a linear STM drive for autofocus. This provides fast and quiet focusing suited to both stills and video work. Moreover, the lens includes an AF/MF switch so you can quickly switch to manual focus for fine-tuning when required.
This lens handles close-up work well. At 24 mm you can focus as close as 0.18 m, reaching approximately 0.27× magnification. At 60 mm the close-focus distance is 0.32 m, for about 0.25× magnification. Therefore, you can capture detail shots without swapping lenses.
The barrel is constructed from aluminium and features IP5X dust- and splash-resistance. In addition, the front elements receive water- and oil-repellent coatings to help keep the surface clear while shooting outdoors. Finally, the lens accepts 72 mm filters via its front thread, which keeps filter use straightforward.

Question: Is this lens compatible with Sony full-frame cameras?
Answer: Yes. The Samyang AF 24–60mm F2.8 is designed for Sony FE mount and covers full-frame sensors.
Question: How well does this lens handle video work?
Answer: The lens uses a linear STM drive for fast, quiet autofocus and includes an AF/MF switch for manual adjustments. These features make it suitable for both stills and video where silent and smooth focus changes matter.
Question: Can I do close-up and detail shots without a macro lens?
Answer: Yes. The lens offers close-focus capabilities of 0.18 m at 24 mm (approx. 0.27×) and 0.32 m at 60 mm (approx. 0.25×), which lets you capture detailed shots without changing lenses in many situations.
Question: Will the lens hold up outdoors?
Answer: The aluminium barrel includes IP5X dust- and splash-resistance and water-/oil-repellent coatings on the front elements, which helps protect the lens during outdoor use.
Question: What filter size do I need and what’s included in the box?
Answer: The lens uses 72 mm filters. In the box you receive the lens, front and rear caps, and a lens hood for protection and flare control.
