SmallRig 5537 Adapter Plate Kit for NP-F Type Batteries – Hot-Swap UPS for Continuous Power

This SmallRig 5537 adapter plate kit keeps mirrorless cameras, monitors, and other equipment powered using NP-F series batteries. It supports one or two NP-F batteries and provides a hot-swap UPS function so you can replace batteries without interrupting power to connected devices.

Flexible mounting and battery configuration

Mount the plate in several ways to suit different rigs. You can attach it via a V-mount plate, use the included 15mm dual rod clamp, or mount it with the bottom 1/4"-20 threaded hole. The plate accepts either one or two NP-F batteries, giving you simple single-battery operation or extended runtime with dual batteries.

Hot-swap UPS behavior

When you install two batteries, the kit enables a hot-swap feature. This lets you replace one battery while the other continues to power connected devices, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) during shoots or monitoring sessions.

Multiple output ports to power several devices

The adapter plate includes multiple output ports so you can run several accessories at once. It provides D-Tap, DC, and USB-C outputs. The ports are positioned to avoid interfering with camera operation and the use of top handles, which helps maintain ergonomic access and clean cable routing on your rig.

USB-C charging and docking

The USB-C port supports up to 36W of input. Therefore, you can use the plate as a charging dock to replenish installed batteries or to provide power via USB-C input when your setup supports it.

Intelligent battery management

An integrated intelligent management chip optimizes both discharging and charging. During discharging, the system draws from the battery with the lower charge first. Then, when voltage drops, it switches to parallel output to allow hot-swaps and to meet the demands of higher-power devices. For charging, the chip prioritizes the battery with the higher charge first, then switches to simultaneous charging of both batteries to improve overall charging efficiency.

Controls and indicators

The plate has an independent power switch that shows power status and activates output with a single press. Moreover, a long press (2 seconds) disables output to all connected devices, simplifying shutdown. Independent LED indicators for each channel give clear, at-a-glance battery status updates so you can monitor remaining power without guessing.

Compatibility and included items

The adapter plate works with a range of NP-F batteries and common mounting accessories. The kit ships with essential mounting hardware so you can install it on 15mm rod systems or secure it via a V-mount or 1/4"-20 screw interface.

FAQ

Question: Can this plate provide uninterrupted power if I swap batteries during a shoot?
Answer: Yes. When two NP-F batteries are installed, the plate enables a hot-swap UPS function that allows you to replace one battery while the other continues to power connected devices.

Question: How can I mount the adapter plate on my rig?
Answer: You can mount it using a V-mount plate, clamp it to 15mm dual rods with 60mm on-center spacing using the included rod clamp, or secure it via the bottom 1/4"-20 threaded hole for direct mounting to compatible accessories.

Question: Does the USB-C port charge the batteries and can it be used as a power input?
Answer: Yes. The USB-C port supports up to 36W of input and can function as a charging dock to charge installed batteries or provide power via USB-C input where supported.

Question: How does the intelligent management chip handle discharging and charging?
Answer: During discharging, the chip drains the lower-charge battery first and switches to parallel output when voltage is low to enable hot-swaps and supply power for high-demand devices. During charging, it prioritizes the higher-charge battery first, then moves to simultaneous charging to improve efficiency.

Question: What controls help me manage power output and status?
Answer: The adapter plate has an independent power switch that turns output on with a single press and disables all outputs with a long press (2 seconds). Additionally, separate LED indicators for each channel display battery status at a glance.

The SmallRig 5537 adapter plate kit combines flexible mounting, multiple outputs, smart battery management, and simple controls to deliver continuous power for mirrorless cameras, monitors, and other NP-F powered gear.
