The SmallRig 5583 Cage gives your Sony A7-series camera added protection while expanding mounting options. It includes a built-in AirTag slot for simple camera tracking and a hinged battery-door support that improves grip by giving extra support to your little finger. The design focuses on secure attachment and fast transitions between handheld, tripod, and gimbal setups.

Secure attachment and anti-deflection fixation

The cage mounts to your camera using a bottom 1/4"-20 screw plus a side locating block. This combination secures the camera and provides anti-deflection fixation. As a result, you do not need to remove the camera’s eyelet triangles to achieve a stable fit.

Multiple mounting points and quick-attach rails

SmallRig built the 5583 Cage with a variety of threaded and locating options to accommodate accessories. These include:

• 1/4"-20 threaded holes for standard accessory screws
• 3/8"-16 ARRI locating holes for precise accessory alignment
• A "HawkLock" NATO rail to quickly attach side handles, top handles, and other NATO-compatible accessories

• A built-in cold shoe that can hold items such as the DJI Mic 2 or compact lights

Before pairing HDMI cable clamps, note the following compatibility details:

• The cage is compatible with HDMI cable clamps included in SmallRig cage kits 4538, 4539, 3668C, and 3669D.
• It is not compatible with the HDMI cable clamps from SmallRig cage kits 3668B and 3669C.
