This SmallRig 5623 cage protects your Canon EOS R5 Mark II when used with the Battery Grip BG-R20 and expands your mounting possibilities. It keeps controls accessible while providing a stable platform for handles, monitors, lights and other accessories.

Secure attachment and unobstructed access

The cage attaches to your camera using a 1/4"-20 screw at the bottom and two M3 screws on the sides. Integrated silicone pads prevent scratches and help hold the camera securely in place. At the same time, the design maintains unobstructed access to buttons, card slots and battery compartments so you can operate and change media without removing the cage.

Wide range of mounting options

SmallRig built the 5623 to accommodate many accessories. It includes multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes, as well as ARRI 3/8"-16 locating holes. You can attach top handles for smooth camera movements, side handles for better grip, monitor mounts for external displays and magic arms for flexible accessory placement.

Three cold shoe mounts let you add microphones and LED lights directly to the cage. Additionally, a front 1/4"-20 locating hole accepts the single rod clamp, allowing you to mount a 15mm rod and support accessories such as a follow focus.

Fast transitions to stabilizers and tripods

The cage base features an Arca-Swiss quick release plate. This enables compatibility with DJI stabilizers including the RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4 and RS 4 Pro. As a result, you can move quickly between handheld, stabilizer and tripod setups without reconfiguring your rig.
