The SmallRig 5715 S70 targets content creators and streamers who use cameras or smartphones. It suits live streaming, daily vlogging, short video production, travel filming, and interviews. The system balances discreet on-camera presence with high-quality audio features for a range of recording scenarios.
The S70 uses a semi-concealed design with a nitinol memory-alloy clip structure. The exposed components measure only 8.8 × 29mm, and the entire unit weighs 8.6g. When clipped to a collar, it remains nearly invisible and does not affect clothing or appearance, making it suitable for shoots where a clean visual is important.
The kit includes RX receivers with USB-C and 3.5mm connectors. This design ensures compatibility with most mainstream Android smartphones and cameras. In addition, the system supports computers with UAC-compatible ports and certain USB-C cameras from Insta360 and DJI Osmo series, as listed in the compatibility section.
The S70 leverages an ATS3031 chip and supports high-fidelity 48 kHz/24-bit audio recording. It offers three noise reduction modes, five levels of gain adjustment, and three mixing modes so you can adapt to different environments and capture clear sound. An auto limiter prevents clipping and helps deliver consistent, distortion-free recordings.
Each transmitter provides up to 8 hours of continuous use on a single charge. When you use the included charging case, total battery life extends to over 40 hours, which is sufficient for two to three days of typical operation without needing to recharge the case.
Grammy-winning sound engineer Luca Bignardi tuned the system. The microphone provides nine preset EQs designed to enhance vocal clarity and purity across different voice types and recording conditions.

Answer: Yes. The package includes a camera RX receiver with a 3.5mm connector for cameras that have a 3.5mm audio input.
Question: How long will the microphones run on a single charge?
Answer: Each transmitter provides up to 8 hours of continuous use. When you use the charging case, total system battery life extends to over 40 hours, which covers 2–3 days of typical recording without recharging the case.
Question: How does the S70 handle noisy environments?
Answer: The system uses an ATS3031 chip with three noise reduction modes, plus five gain levels and three mixing modes to adapt to different environments. An auto limiter also prevents clipping to keep recordings clear.
Question: Does the microphone affect my on-camera appearance?
Answer: The semi-concealed nitinol memory-alloy clip keeps exposed components small (8.8 × 29mm) and the transmitter light (8.6g). As a result, it stays nearly invisible when clipped to clothing and does not noticeably affect appearance.
Question: What kind of sound tuning does the S70 offer?
Answer: The system was tuned by Grammy-winning sound engineer Luca Bignardi and includes nine preset EQs to enhance vocal clarity across various voice types and recording conditions.
